Dental Care is often overlooked by many, for various reasons ranging from fear to cost. Kluth Family & Cosmetic Dentistry wants to educate patients and the public about the importance of Dental Health Care. Nothing boosts a person's confidence more than a beautiful smile, but it is more than just the appearance that good dental health can bring a person. Dental health can prolong your life. Studies now show there is a link between oral health and heart disease. Periodontal disease is a build of excess tartar along and below the gum line, it is believed that oral bacteria can affect the heart when they enter the blood stream, attaching to fatty plaques in the coronary arteries (heart blood vessels) and contributing to clot formation. It is also thought the excess build up of plaque is a contributing factor to infection, which may increase the swelling of the artieries.
